Monitoring fitness in elite women handball players
Mikulášková, Veronika ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Petružela, Jan (referee)
Title: Monitoring fitness in elite female handball players. Objectives: The subject of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of the conditioning abilities of a women's handball team playing in the highest Czech competition. The comparison of the results measured during the preparation period, first at the beginning and then in the final phase of the cycle, will show us the positive influence of physical conditioning during the game break or, on the contrary, will serve the coaches of the chosen club as an indicator of incorrectly chosen concept of training units. Methods: Testing was conducted on 18 elite female handball players aged 19 to 30 years. Using 5 selected field tests, we diagnosed the level of selected fitness abilities that are central to achieving quality performance in handball. According to the comparison and statistical processing of the results, differences between pretest and posttest performances were determined. The individual tests concerned dynamic lower limb strength (vertical jump and horizontal jump), throwing arm strength (2kg medicine ball throw), running endurance (beep test) and speed and coordination skills (agility T- test). Primary and secondary measurements were taken 6 weeks apart. Results: Control data from the posttests showed improvement in all tested disciplines....
Possibilities of using the squat in training and physical development
Rubek, Tomáš ; Gryc, Tomáš (advisor) ; Blažek, Dušan (referee)
Title: Possibilities of using the squat in training and physical development Objectives: The aim of the thesis was to comprehensively describe the squat as an exercise with a wide range of uses not only in the training of professional athletes, but also recreational exercisers, or the general public. The work was supposed to summarize the number of possible benefits of the squat and its variants in the areas of improving physical performance and physical and mental health. Methods: The thesis uses research methods, that is, the collection and study of selected relevant literature, as a prerequisite for creating an overwiev of the current state of knowledge in the field of the thesis topic. Results: We have described the areas of possible use of the squat. We have briefly summarized the information contained in the studies found and cited in the thesis. Keywords: literature review, exercise, performance, conditioning, rehabilitation
Causality and Intervention in Business Process Management
Bína, V. ; Jiroušek, Radim
The paper presents an algebraic approach to the modeling of causality in systems of stochastic variables. The methodology is based on an operator of a composition that provides the possibility of composing a multidimensional distribution from low-dimensional building blocks taking advantage of the dependence structure of the problem variables. The authors formally define and demonstrate on a hypothetical example a surprisingly elegant unifying approach to conditioning by a single variable and the evaluation of the effect of an intervention. Both operations are realized by the composition with a degenerated distribution and differ only in the sequence in which the operator of the composition is performed.
Remote ischemic conditioning: principles and mechanisms
Chmelířová, Kateřina ; Novotný, Jiří (advisor) ; Vebr, Pavel (referee)
Ischemic remote conditioning is an experimental treatment method serving for the protection of heart (or other organs) against ischemia-reperfusion injury. In comparison with the regular conditioning, where the process is initiated by sequence of short ischemias performed directly on the target organ, protective function of the remote conditioning is activated via sequence of short ischemias and following reperfusions executed on a remote tissue - usually by strangulating an upper limb. Transmission of the signal from the remote organ to the target organ is mediated via neuronal and humoral routes. Method can be applied as pre-conditioning, before the presumed long-term ischemia, and per-conditioning, during long-term ischemia, or as post-conditioning after a long-term ischemia. It is quite safe, non- invasive, inexpensive and easily feasible method. This thesis describes the so far identified molecular mechanisms involved in the development of cardioprotection mediated by remote conditioning.
Structure of sports performance in tennis singles
Plachá, Kristýna ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dovalil, Josef (referee)
Title of the bachelor's thesis: Structure of the sports performance in tennis singles Aim of the bachelor's thesis: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to design a model of the structure of the sports performance in tennis singles to demonstrate the importance of particular factors, their inner structure and their mutual relations. Methods used in the bachelor's thesis: This bachelor's thesis has a theoretical character and it is based on domestic and foreign literature review. There was applied the method of content analysis of documents along with genearal research method, analysis - synthesis and inductive - deductive approach. Achieved results: The result represents a designed model of the structure of sports performance in tennis singles. Mutual relations among particular factors are implied in the model. Key words: Sports performance, somatic factors, conditioning, coordination abilities, technique, tactics, psychological factors
The role of glia in neuroprotection
Fider, Jan ; Novotný, Jiří (advisor) ; Telenský, Petr (referee)
Verterbate brain is extremely demanding on energy and oxygen consumption. A few seconds of the oxygen deprivation can disrupt brain homeostasis and cause an ionic imbalance, resulting in neuronal death by apoptosis or necrosis. The mechanisms, that are responsible for protection of the CNS against the disruption of homeostasis are called neuroprotection. Neuroprotection in the brain is mostly provided by glial cells. There are several types of glia in the human brain, but not all of them are responsible for neuroprotection equally. However, in general we can say that all the glial cells are responsible for the maintainance of ionic balance, which play an important role in neuroprotection. Astroglia and mikroglia dominantly contribute to protectiion of the CNS. These cells can be activated by any disruption of the CNS and actively execute a number of neuroprotective actions. Activated astrocytes form astrogliosis, which covers and separates the affected area of the brain from healthy tissue, thereby preventing further spread of ischemic damage. Activated microglia can transform into phagocytes which clean the extracellular space from dead cells and their parts. Neuroprotection research is nowadays very popular. This is because of urgent need better understanding of the causes of neurodegenerative...
Assessment of using equipment for functional training of floorball women
Procházková, Jitka ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Jebavý, Radim (referee)
Title: Assessment of using equipment for functional training of floorball women Objectives: The aim of this work is to compile selection of useful functional exercises with exercise equipment of extralegue floorball women team and also to get expert considerations of conditional trainer and assessment of exercises by Borg scale of floorball women. Methods: For the data collection and information acquisitions have been used following methods: questionnaire interviews by players of team and oral communication during an interview with conditional trainer. Processing of the questionnaires conducted in Microsoft Excel, the results are expressed through charts. Results: According to the assessment of conditional trainer has each selected functional exercise with equipment benefits for floorball players. It was found that floorball players do not considered functional training with the equipment as too exhausting, because they evaluated all exercises the average mark of 4 on the Borg scale. We can see some differences in the evaluation of players belonging to the national team, compared with players who had experience only with the league matches. We do not see a big difference in player's rating by age category and length of floorball practice. Keywords: functional training, exercise equipment,...
Use of core training in floorball
Mašková, Alžběta ; Jebavý, Radim (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Use of core training in floorball Objectives: Present an overview of research papers regarding core training and its possible use in floorball Tasks: First aim of this thesis is to provide description and explanation of the core training by using available literature, research papers, bachelor or magister thesis and also thesis of the coaching school. Second aim is to analyze the necessary components of floorball player's performance relative to the core training. This is followed by a suggestion of a core training program based on this analysis. Its aim is to improve the lumbopelvic stability, which should lead to improvement of in-game performance of players in the senior category. Finally, it describes the changes in the floorball program during one year long training cycle. Methods: Research and comparison of literature in the field of core training. Results: The result of this thesis is to make an appropriate core training program for adult floorball players with aim to improve the lumbopelvic stability and description of the meaning of the core training. Keywords: Core training, floorball, conditioning, core, lumbopelvic stability
